I am excited to announce the start of our tsumami-zaiku workshop series.
Until now, tsumami-zaiku has mainly been available as finished works for sale, but thanks to many requests, it is now offered as a hands-on workshop.
As the nights grow longer, it’s also the perfect season to enjoy making a warm and gentle washi paper lampshade.
Experience the calming beauty of handmade Japanese crafts.
🌸 Tsumami-Zaiku
Tsumami-zaiku is a traditional Japanese craft technique in which small squares of fabric are folded and assembled into delicate flowers.
It creates an elegant, refined, and timeless look.
While tsumami-zaiku is often known as hair accessories, at Coloratura you may also choose to display your work as framed art, so you can enjoy it in your home.
✔️ Choose from framed art, hair accessories, or a brooch
✔️ Select your flower colors, patterns, and background paper

Yesterday, many people came and experienced the Coloratura‘s workshops.
I felt that the number of visitors to the festival overall was lower than last year due to the heat of over 30℃, but all the six Coloratura workshops I held were all full, except for the Origami workshop.
When I asked the people who participated the workshops, I found that there were more people saw my workshop and applied there rather than those who came to my workshop getting information in advance.
I'm glad I’m happy to make many people known Coloratura’s workshop and participants enjoyed them.
Also I am happy a lady asked me the way to reserve the workshops in advance, and both mother and daughter were looking forward to coming, as well as some people those who participated last year came again as repeaters.

Yesterday, in fact, was the just two-year since I came to the Netherlands.
During two years, I participated in various events and markets, held miniature clay lessons and workshops…
I tried my best, met a lot of people and was able to do many things like this.
Thank you for your continued support.
✳︎ For the people who were unable to participate due to lack of seat this time, I look forward to your participation at another opportunity.
There are no plans to hold workshops at events like this Japan Festival for the time being, but Coloratura holds workshops from time to time.

Coloratura will hold Japanese-style handcraft workshops again this year at Japan Festival in Amstelveen stadshart on Sunday, June 25th.
I will offer the workshops of miniature clay (Japanese food, Japanese sweets) that were popular last year so please join the workshops on this occasion, and also hold workshops that you can make key chains and boxes using Japanese-style cloth and origami paper.
Last year, the workshops were fully booked and many people were unable to join. If you are interested, please come early.
The Japan Festival in Amstelveen is one of the largest Japanese events in the Netherlands, with over 10,000 visitors.
There are also many Japanese food stalls and stage performances.
(I am a member of the Japanese Choir “Sora", and I will sing on the stage from 13:40 to 13:50. Please come to stage and listen. (During that time, I won’t be in the Coloratura workshop stall.)
Please come to join us with your family and friends.

6月25日(日)にアムステルフェーンの スタッツハルトで開催されるJapan Festival で、 今年も和風ハンドクラフトワークショップを 開催します。
In "Coloratura ~ Miniature Clay & Handmade workshop", in addition to miniature clay, I also hold workshops on making accessories using Japanese-style cloth, turtle key chains using 5 yen (Japanese coin).
I use 5 yen(Japanese coin) “go-en 5円” in this turtle. The Sound “go-en” also has other meaning “go-en ご縁”(same sound). The latter “go-en” means "fate".
Turtles live long, so it also has meaning that hope to live long and healthy.
While making 5 yen coin turtles, I was thinking I was happy to able to meet various people through miniature clay and handcraft workshops in the Netherlands. I’m glad meeting people and having a wonderful time.
